by NEFAB Project
The Newsletter #2 features NEFAB moving into the Development Phase. The NEFAB project has now started the last and final phase of the project preparing for the FAB establishment, implementation and operations. The Feasibility Study completed in August indicates positive overall effects in the NEFAB airspace (Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Norway, including Bodø Oceanic FIR). It defines 12 initiatives in three scenarios (minimum and performance for 2020 and vision for 2015) with analysis for internal ANSP effects (Cost Benefit Analysis) and for the society at large (Socio-economic study).
The Newsletter provides a snapshot of key findings of the Feasibility Study and potential savings. It also provides some basics of NEFAB, including Mission, Vision and governance, and explains the rationale behind establishing functional airpsace blocks.
